Our Waler Geldings

— Wendara Silver Lining (sold) —

This beautiful 15hh five year old black silver dapple Waler gelding arrived in late August 2014. He is a wonderful, soulful boy with a to-die-for nature and stunning movement. He is half-brother of my stallion and is a perfect example of the colour that the stallion, Bee, can produce.

We have so much faith in our show horses’ bloodlines that we have purchased 25 doses of semen from Wendara Silver Lining’s sire, Sand Palm Digger, owned by Pauline Prince. The beautiful black Garden lines stallion is not only of a rare quality bloodline, he also passes onto his foals, smooth showy fronted looks that we like to see in our foals. This semen will be available for stud use only but we are excited to have his bloodlines available for our use and for diversification of our stallion lines!

Given Wendara Silver Lining’s movement, self-carriage, and exceptional quality, he completed 2018 competing in open classes as a large show hunter galloway with Emily Wonka aboard. He won Champion Show Hunter at the Beaudesert and Boonah Show after getting his qualifiers at Gatton and Gold Coast Show. He then competed at the Show Horse Council Horse of the Year Show, where he got top ten in the large show hunter galloway and won the 5-year-old show horse class, receiving his golden ticket to Grand Nationals.

He is an amazing young horse, who at just five years old, was ridden by a child rider Isabella Shoemark in the rider class at the SHC HOTY and child rider Lexie Armstrong at the Queensland Royal Show and Boonah Show.

Following his successes in 2018, Silver was sold to a wonderful home in Northern NSW where he is continued to be shown and used for pleasure and working equitation. With the pregnancy of his owner, things haven’t quite worked out as planned, and he has made a rather pretty and much loved paddock ornament. However, he has been seen out and about at Pony Club at Tweed Heads in July 2020!

— Juroki Johnnie (sold) —

Johnnie is also by Sand Palm Digger and he was acquired by Pinnacle Peak Stud in September 2016. He was purchased as another example of the excellent progeny that Sand Palm Digger provides.

Johnnie is a bay gelding and measures around 16hh. He shows an extraordinary amount of potential as an open show hunter hack. He was ridden skillfully by Emily Wonka at an Ipswich Hack Day and was well regarded in the led show hunter hack and ridden show hunter hack.

Johnnie attended both Laidley Show 2017 and Gatton Show 2017, where he won Best Waler gelding at both shows.

Johnnie has been sold to a wonderful NSW home where is being used for pleasure riding, clinics, and stockwork to mid-NSW and has since been sold to a lovely pleasure home in South East Queensland.
