Grey part bred Waler colt by Trublu Trail Blazer out of Pinnacle Pepper (rescued Australian pony) foaled 2 November 2017.

Salty needs no introduction. We have scaled back showing largely in 2018 but we chose one of our foals to compete at the Toowoomba Royal Show 2018 Open Weanling Futurity. As a six month old, this little character turned up and impressed the judges with his beautiful movement, looks, and nature, and was awarded the Best Exhibit. He will be likely to mature small galloway and he has a wonderful quiet pony like nature, and will be one as a future child’s pony and horse for the entire family.

He was prepped for sale for a show home only and in early 2019, he was sold to the McCuin Family in early 2019 and will be one to watch in the show ring!

In 2021, he was started under saddle, competing at the Interschools and Toowoomba Royal Show so far in 2021, with top 10 results in all classes (including Child Rider, Presentation and Show Hunter classes). He is being ridden by 13 yo Tanisha McCuin, who has taken him since he was green broken and trained him for the show ring. Their results are a testament to their dedication to showing and the honest young gelding’s temperament and work ethic.

2016 season and earlier foals

Below is a full history of each Waler foal born at Pinnacle Peak Stud from 2016 and earlier (our very first foal is mentioned on Our Training Methods page as well), as well as fairly recent photos of how they turned out or are turning out!

— Pinnacle Sweet Marie “Marie” (sold) —
Pip’s Opinion (TB) gave birth to a filly sired by Bee on 21 October 2016 at 8.30pm. The filly was imprinted on her first evening, including full handling, and a tiny little leading lesson.

She’s now fully handled, rugged, ties, walks into truck, float, treadmill, and is in lightly conditioned ready for her new home. She has a cheerful easy going nature, and absolutely no issues on introduction to the roller.

She is very tall and leggy for her age and we estimate her maturing at around 16hh.

Missy Marie has been sold to a wonderful competitive dressage home in Northern Territory and has been started under saddle and going very well.

Poppet is a most sensible and willing young filly and we will continue with our friendly, non-hurried handling with her as she matures. She is genetically confirmed as homozygous black and heterozygous silver (EEAANZ).

She has been sold to Western Australia to Stonefield Walers, and Alicia is most impressed with her lovely nature and willing attitude. She is one to watch for the future!

— Pinnacle Silver Morning Mist “Misty” (sold) —
Divatrump gave birth to a beautiful black silver part bred filly (genetically confirmed) on 3 April 2016. This little lady has the colour, looks and pizazz, of her sire Bee, and she is full brother to Pinnacle Silver Flame. Like her full brother, she is a confident little girl, and very well handled. At four months, she could already tie, lead, will walk into a float, drench, and has her feet done by our farrier. She is very well conformed like her full brother, and wonderful straight legs.

She has been weaned and shown at her first show, the QLD Dilute Championships, where she won Champion Silver Female. She has been sold to a lovely QLD home, and we hope to continue a showing partnership to keep this lovely filly in the show ring in the future.

She’s been sold to a lovely QLD home.

Naryilco Rani gave birth to a beautiful black silver (genetically confirmed) purebred WHSA registrable Waler colt on 16 September 2014, sired by BJ. He has been named Pinnacle Sterling Silver.

Sterlo has loads of confidence and pizzaz. He has picked up his father’s sassy show nature and will stun in the show ring! He is incredibly confident, friendly and energetic.

At six days old he had already learnt to lead, tie, groom and be handled all over and have his feet picked up. He is very very trainable and was sold to a wonderful competition home in Victoria.

Like with all our foals, we keep in close contact with the new owners, and here is a beautiful photo of Sterlo as a three year old in his new home.\

— Pinnacle Moonshadow “Shadow” (sold) —
Naryilco Dakota came to us with a beautiful black part bred WHSA registered Waler foal at foot, born 22 February 2014. Moon is by a black overo 15hh registered paint stallion of lovely temperament.

Pinnacle Moonshadow has inherited his father’s lovely nature and his Mum’s easy going temperament. He is a lovely little boy, who is very curious, and showing great intelligence at an early age. He is unperturbed by loud noises, fast movement and most things that could be considered scary for a colt of his age. He views the world with interest and little fear. Not much worries this boy! At less than three months, he hung around mostly at the fence with the other horses, showing little interest in staying close with his mother. This little Waler foal is also very active, and loves galloping around and playing with any horse who will play with him! He moves nicely using his hindquarters well.

He has nice straight legs, and like all our foals, his hooves were trimmed at two months by our expert farrier to ensure his leg and hoof development is perfect. He was wormed at eight weeks and has received the best of care since arriving at our stud. He has been handled since one month old, with molasses drenches, halter and lead training, full body handling and grooming and leg pick ups. He is generally easily trained. He was most impressive with his lack of fear of leg handling, even the first time, he has no kick or grab in him at all.

This stunning boy has been sold to a wonderful home in South East Queensland and is pleasing his new owner with his easy going attitude and gentle nature. We visited his owner in late 2015 and we were most impressed with how he has turned out, as pictured below at rising 2!
